Job Description:


The Pool Attendant is responsible for ensuring the Pool Area is well maintained and ready for guest use. This position is responsible for the upkeep of the pool area, to include all lounge chairs, tables, pool deck and restrooms.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure the upkeep, cleanliness and housekeeping of the pool area; utilizing a pool area checklist to monitor quality on a regular basis.
  • Maintain proper stock and rotation of pool towels, transporting dirty towels to laundry, assisting when needed to process the pool linen with the Laundry department.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the Pool Area, wiping down chairs and surfaces, cleaning lounge chairs, sweeping and quick-mopping floors as needed.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of pool restrooms; maintaining sufficient inventory of supplies.
  • Greet guests, directing to open lounge chairs when necessary.
  • Sweep pool area, emptying trash containers, properly removing any broken glass.  
  • Represent a positive working liaison with all other Team members on the Birdseye Rooftop.
  • Complete all listed opening and closing checklists, cleaning checklists, and duties related to shift.
  • Assist team members as needed to promote a positive teamwork environment.
  • Perform other duties as requested by Management.

Experience and Skills:


  • Ability to stand for 8’ hours length of time.
  • Ability to walk/stand approximately 90% of shift.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuous basis.
  • Interior and exterior of hotel, primarily Birdseye Rooftop, exposure to sun, heat, cold and changing weather conditions.


  • Available in season April - October, weekends, nights and holidays (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day).
  • Requires good communication; both verbal and written.
  • Must be able to show initiative, anticipating guest or operational needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English Language. A second language is desirable.
  • Ability to practice and adhere to all safety requirements.
